Ellendale welcomes first residents

January 2018

There was never any doubt in their minds when Brisbane couple Nikhil Kamani and Nancy Patel set their sights on Ellendale to build their first home together.

Their two-storey Metricon home was one of the first completed and the couple have officially been welcomed as Ellendale’s first residents.

Having lived in a one bedroom rental unit in Bowen Hills, Research and Development Manager Nikhil said the opportunity to live in a new-build house so close to the city was a real drawcard.

“We outgrew apartment living and wanted to own a home of our own. We had a Metricon design we liked and we were just waiting for suitable land. As soon as the first sales release was announced at Ellendale we knew we wouldn’t get the same combination of a leafy village environment with proximity to the city elsewhere – so we jumped at it,” Mr Kamani said.

“Already, Ellendale has a premium but relaxed feel to it. All of the homes, like ours, have been designed to complement the surrounding environment and having a national park on our doorstep makes us feel like we’re a million miles from the city.”

Ms Patel, a Clinical Research Assistant, said she was delighted with their home choice and it suited their lifestyle “I always dreamt of owning a big home where my family could gather and enjoy special times together.

“Ellendale has made that dream a reality – a large four bedroom home in a safe community that delivers proximity to the city and beautiful mountain views in a true community atmosphere.”

Metricon’s General Manager, Queensland, Mr Peter Ryan, said premium master-planned urban villages like Ellendale were scarce and it was proving popular with prospective buyers.

“We have a lot of clients ask us about Ellendale. There’s no other master planned village like it in such close proximity to Brisbane’s CBD, the only other options are to move further out from the city, or find a suitable block in an existing neighbourhood which isn’t always easy if you want to refine your home design,” said Mr Ryan.

“In Nikhil and Nancy’s case, we were able to use Ellendale’s design standards to ensure we delivered a home that complemented the natural habitat while setting the benchmark for a quality residential development.”

Ellendale is located 12km from Brisbane CBD in Upper Kedron and neighbours the South D'Aguilar National Park. Comprising 227 hectares the site will see 40 per cent committed to green space and handed back to Brisbane City Council to operate as parkland.

Metricon will be one of 13 builders in the Ellendale display village, due to open in March 2018. A new sales centre recently opened at 324 Canvey Road, Upper Kedron while sales enquiries can also be registered at www.ellendale.com.au or on 1300 720 858.
