New multi-million dollar community park opens at Glenside

18 June 2021

Construction on the new Glenside Park in South Australia was officially completed on Saturday, May 8. The occasion was marked with a ribbon cutting by Cedar Woods’ Managing Director Nathan Blackburne, Hon Vickie Chapman and Mayor of Burnside, Anne Monceaux.

The ribbon-cutting was followed by a community ‘come and try’ day for local residents, ahead of the park opening for full public access in July.

Designed by leading landscape architects, the more than 15,000 sqm park incorporates an exercise track, family picnic area with shelters, BBQ facilities and large multi-use grassed area for relaxation and recreation.

There are also thoughtfully designed play spaces for younger and older children around the treelined perimeter of the park, while new trees have been planted to provide additional shade and complement the mature trees around the park’s edge.

A walking path creating a link across Greenhill Road into the adjacent Victoria Park provides a direct connection into Adelaide’s CBD.

Cedar Woods’ Managing Director, Nathan Blackburne said the opening of the park marked a major milestone for the Glenside development.

“The new park will be a drawcard for the residents within the development and the surrounding suburbs, said Mr Blackburne.

“It forms part of a network of parks, landscaped open spaces and walking paths at Glenside that connect the community, provides greater amenity and an accessible, active public space for everyone to enjoy.

“The development of Glenside, and integration of modern housing, with heritage buildings and well-designed public spaces is testament to Cedar Woods’ ability to deliver high-quality masterplanned communities with broader community benefit.”

The Glenside development is now home to more than 300 residents. 61 townhomes and the development’s first apartment building with 77 apartments have been completed. The development’s second apartment building, Grace apartments, is nearing completion, with the first residents set to move into their new homes this July.
