Breaking ground on newest strata office in Melbourne’s West

Cedar Woods has recently broken ground on its sixth stand-alone office building at Williams Landing, Hudson Hub, situated in Melbourne’s west.

Construction commenced in October with the appointment of Hacer Group, continuing the long-standing relationship between Cedar Woods and the builder, which has been welcomed by Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager, James Bovell.

“We are delighted to once again partner with Hacer Group for the construction of Hudson Hub. Having worked with them on a number of projects previously, we have seen their experience, expertise, and commitment to quality, and are confident that they will deliver Hudson Hub to the highest standard.”

The 82-strata office building which features five retail suites, is already making a substantial impact on the local real estate market. With approximately 60 per cent of the suites already sold, Hudson Hub continues to demonstrate the growing demand for office and retail spaces in suburban areas. The retail campaign in June achieved over $11,000 per square metre rate for one of its ground floor retail suites, a comparable price to Melbourne’s inner-city suburbs.

The successful sales at Hudson Hub demonstrate the increasing appeal of Melbourne's West and the evolving preferences of businesses and workers. This reflects a growing trend towards decentralised work locations and the desire for high-quality office spaces closer to residential areas.

“Hudson Hub represents our commitment to creating high-quality office spaces outside the CBD. The strong interest we’ve seen demonstrates that businesses value well-designed suburban locations” Mr Bovell noted.

Designed by Hames Sharley, Hudson Hub incorporates several features to meet the evolving needs of modern businesses and their employees. These include end-of-trip facilities, secure bicycle storage, and ground-level communal EV charging facilities. Hudson Hub will also deliver significant rooftop amenities with feature landscaping, entertaining spaces, a BBQ area, and seating areas, whilst suites on Level 3 will benefit from private open-air balconies. The project further emphasises sustainability with initiatives such as high performance facades, solar panels, and energy-efficient light fixtures.

“Williams Landing is marked as a major activity and employment centre. The location, excellent transport links, access to local amenities, and long-standing business clientele within the community make it an increasingly attractive destination for businesses looking to establish themselves,” adds Bovell.

The official groundbreaking ceremony for Hudson Hub was held on Thursday 10 October. In attendance was Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager James Bovell, project partners Hames Sharley and Hacer Group, project consultants UPco and Indesco, alongside Leanne Down from the Committee for Wyndham, who continues to provide invaluable support to the Wyndham Community.

Hudson Hub office suites are now selling, with completion slated for Q1 2026.
