Mr Nathan Blackburne

Nathan has progressed through a wide range of senior roles since his appointment in 2002 to lead the company’s expansion on Australia’s east coast.

With experience in various sectors in the property industry including valuations, asset management, commercial leasing and property development, Nathan established the Victorian office and later expanded the business to include Queensland and South Australia.

In 2016, Nathan was appointed Chief Operating Officer for the company, working with the Board and Managing Director to strengthen Cedar Woods’ operating platform and to prepare the business for further growth. In 2017 Nathan took on the role of Managing Director and relocated to the head office in Perth to lead the company.

Nathan holds has a Bachelor of Business degree and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also a Graduate of Harvard Business School in Boston having completed their Advanced Management Program.

Mr Patrick Archer

Chief Operating Officer

As the Chief Operating Officer at Cedar Woods Properties, Patrick Archer leads business operations and growth, using his combined 30 years of experience to maximise business performance and outcomes. 

Since his appointment in 2017, Patrick’s role has been to drive the achievement of key objectives set by the business and work to exceed corporate performance targets through strategic direction, implementation of systems and oversight on key business areas. Patrick works to ensure the growth of the business both in terms of core activities and new business opportunities.  

Fostering a high performance culture is a strong aspect of his role, attracting and retaining the best quality staff through his commitment to workplace culture, staff growth and development.  

Patrick joined Cedar Woods in 2005 and has previously served as State Manager of Victoria and South Australia and led the company’s expansion into the Adelaide market. Prior to this, Patrick played a key role on many iconic developments in Melbourne including large scale civic and infrastructure projects.  

Patrick draws on his broad experience in property, construction and development to deliver high profile project and quality results across the residential, retail and commercial sectors to ensure financial success.  

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Business Administration and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Leon Hanrahan

Leon joined Cedar Woods in 2010 and held a number of senior finance roles before being appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2018.

In his role at Cedar Woods Leon is responsible for finance strategy for the company covering capital management, financial systems, reporting and compliance as well as investor relations.

Leon has more than 20 years’ experience as a finance professional, working across the property industry as well as the resources sector and professional services in Australia and Europe.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance.

Leon also serves as a Non-Executive Director of an aged care and retirement living group.

Mr Ben Rosser

State Manager – Western Australia

A highly experienced business leader, Ben joined Cedar Woods in 2015 to head up the WA team as the State Manager.  

In his role Ben oversees the development, sales and marketing activities across the WA office, home to more than 17 estates. Ben is passionate about developing and mentoring property professionals, and cites this as one of his career highlights. 

Ben has demonstrated strong leadership in several roles, as the CEO of Fleetwood WA, CEO and COO of Discovery Holiday Parks and the General Manager of Resort Parks. He brings more than 30 years’ experience within commercial property agency, property development, manufacturing and service sectors to Cedar Woods. 

Ben holds a Bachelor in Business Administration, completed the Advanced Management Program at Melbourne Business School, and was involved in the UWA/Harvard Senior Executive Forum. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Mr Paul Freedman

Paul Freedman has been an integral part of Cedar Woods’ successful property development journey, having joined the company nearly 25 years ago.  

For 20 years of that period, Paul held the Chief Financial Officer role and is an expert in financial management in the property industry. He assumed the role of Company Secretary in 2018, working across all entities and special projects at Cedar Woods.  

Paul brings more than 40 years in professional, financial and property roles to the company. He precedes his employment at Cedar Woods with senior roles in major accountancy firms.  

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and New Zealand and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Paul also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Geography.

Mr Jimmy Lee

As the navigator for Digital and Technology at Cedar Woods, Jimmy thrives on driving successful outcomes in high performing teams. 

Jimmy joined Cedar Woods in 2018 to lead the IT function, with a mandate to modernise, optimise and transform process and systems across the company. Since becoming Chief Information Officer in 2020, Jimmy works hard to support the overall strategic direction of Cedar Woods through leadership of people and systems. He has a strong passion for driving change and influencing a positive culture throughout organisations.  

Jimmy brings over 25 years’ experience in varied roles across property, logistics and supply chain management, mining and metals, manufacturing and wider industries. This provides Jimmy with a breadth of experience that drives his innovative outlook on how technology can be a source of advantage. 

In 2020, he was recognised in the CIO Top 50 as one of Australia’s most innovative CIOs. He has a double degree in Commerce and Arts from Curtin University and earned his stripes in the AICD Company Directors Course.

Mr Brendan Gorringe 

National Aquisitions Manager

With more than three decades experience in the Australian property and finance sectors, Brendan Gorringe adds a wealth of knowledge to the Cedar Woods team as National Acquisitions Manager.

Appointed to the role in April 2021, Brendan leads the responsibility of sourcing, researching and negotiating new acquisitions for the Cedar Woods portfolio. He assists with identifying new business opportunities and partnerships for the national property developer as well as ensuring the acquisition strategy aligns with the company’s business objectives.

In July 2022, Brendan joined the Cedar Woods Executive Team adding a unique combination of property, finance and business analytical skills to the management team.

Brendan has held a number of leadership roles in the sector and has also held a range of executive management positions, including at ANZ and Westpac. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Valuation and Land Economy), a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment (Investment Management) and is a licensed valuer. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate of the Australian Property Institute.

Mr James Bovell

State Manager - Victoria
BCom

James is Cedar Woods’ Victorian State Manager, leading the company’s development portfolio across land subdivisions, townhouses, apartments and office developments in Melbourne.

In his current role, he is also responsible for overseeing Cedar Woods’ sales and marketing activities, and strategies in Victoria.

Joining Cedar Woods in 2018, James has delivered both Western Australian and Victorian flagship projects and was appointed to the executive team in 2023.

He has significant property industry expertise, in particular valuations, acquisitions and development management across a number of sectors.  

James holds a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Property and Finance, and has also completed the General Management Program at Melbourne Business School.  

Mr Mark Pivovaroff

State Manager - South Australia

Mark holds the position of Cedar Woods’ South Australian State Manager, leveraging more than 35 years of experience in Australia's property and engineering sectors.

Appointed to his current role and the executive team in July 2024, Mark oversees the development, sales and marketing activities across the Adelaide portfolio, which currently includes two prominent built form projects encompassing townhouses and apartments. Joining Cedar Woods in 2016, Mark assisted with the acquisition of the South Australian flagship project, Glenside, and also the Fletcher’s Slip project.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and Master of Applied Science in Project Management. He is also the President of the SA division of Urban Development Institute of Australia.
