Building approvals pave the way for Glenside sales launch

November 2017

The first homes to be built at Glenside have been approved by the South Australian State Planning Commission with buyers able to purchase from early next year.

Approvals for 61 architecturally designed three, four and five bedroom town homes follow months of market research with prospective buyers to ensure the designs meet purchaser needs.

The first homes will be located in the south-western corner of the development alongside Fullarton Road, offering easy access to Glenside’s network of parks, walking and cycling trails, local shops and eateries.

The development will be marketed as ‘Glenside’ with the brand recently launched with new onsite signage, a project website and a community information stand at Burnside Village.

The launch of the brand, particularly community engagement at Burnside Village, has led to a sharp rise in the number of registrations of interest which are now running into the thousands.

Mr Patrick Archer, Cedar Woods’ State Manager said Glenside will build on the established beauty and convenience of Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.

“All the homes at Glenside will be premium quality and architecturally designed with a range of living options to suit various lifestyles including architecturally designed town homes and apartments,” said Mr Archer.

“Homes will be set in a lush green botanical environment including landscaped parks planted with 400 new trees alongside sensitively restored heritage buildings.

“There’s strong demand for homes at Glenside with registrations of interest continuing to grow including interest from surrounding suburbs and across metropolitan Adelaide.

“Interested buyers need to register on our website to receive priority.”

Glenside is located on the city fringe, just a stone’s throw from Adelaide’s southern parklands and Victoria Park, and alongside the Frewville Shopping Centre which boasts the world’s best independent supermarket. It’s also just a few minutes from Burnside Village.

Glenside will see the transformation of the 16-hectare site into a master-planned community with 1,000 new homes and high quality landscaped public spaces and walking and cycling trails.

Initial site works for the $400 million Glenside development started in late June, including construction of the development’s sales centre and project office which is nearing completion.

Cedar Woods engaged South Australian-based contractors to undertake the initial site works, and expects to create around 450 construction related jobs and 1,850 jobs across the wider economy throughout the development of Glenside.

Established in 1987, Cedar Woods has a diverse portfolio of projects in Victoria and Queensland, and growing interests in South Australia with developments at Glenside and Port Adelaide.

The company has established a state office in Adelaide with a growing development and marketing team in South Australia, as well as a network of local contractors and specialist agencies.

The release of the first homes at Glenside is planned for early next year with an invitation only sales opportunity for registered buyers, to precede sales to the public.
