Ellendale Welcomes 500th Resident

Our Ellendale community in Brisbane has reached a major milestone, welcoming its 500th family - Leisa and Scott Sporn, along with their two young sons.

The couple purchased a 670sqm block in the community's Jacaranda release and say the quiet peaceful environment and location close to their boys’ schools made Ellendale their ideal address.

Ms Sporn said the family had confidence buying in the community, due to the significant investment in Upper Kedron and the wider area.

“We’ve got a new cineplex and IGA being built nearby so we know the area will continue to grow,” she said.

"We love the quiet environment and are building a low set home with four bedrooms and three living areas, which is larger than our current two-storey home.

“Ellendale is so beautifully designed and feels like country living next to the D’Aguilar National Park while being close to the CBD."

Ms Sporn said they had engaged Domaine Homes for the build, with work expected to start in April, and they planned to spend next Christmas in their new home.

The 500th family milestone was reached following land settlement in the Jacaranda release, with the Sporn's among 42 new buyers constructing their homes in the community.

The release appealed to a broad cross-section of purchasers, with 19 of our families upgrading to a new home, 13 first-home purchasers, five downsizers and three investors.

A total of 591 homesites have sold at Ellendale since its launch to the market in mid-2016, with 500 of those now settled.

On completion, the community will comprise 889 lots, and be home to an anticipated population of more than 2,500.

Located in Upper Kedron at the foothills of the picturesque South D'Aguilar National Park and just 12 kilometres from the Brisbane CBD, the growing Ellendale community has contributed to the evolution of Brisbane’s north-west.

Cedar Wood’ Queensland State Manager, Michelle Wooldridge, said Ellendale was a key driver in both the area’s expanding population and popularity.

“Welcoming our 500th family is a major milestone and one we are extremely proud of,” Ms Wooldridge said

“We have evolved Ellendale and its surrounds significantly over the years from a community largely drawing first-home buyers to one appealing to families upgrading to expansive new homes in an aspirational area.

“This has underscored the growth in values of our homesites, with Ellendale today among Brisbane’s million-dollar areas.”

Ellendale was recently named one of the top 10 most sought-after developments in Brisbane, by leading property news site The Urban Developer

The article cited its location, premium homesites and dedication to natural bushland corridors, which account for almost 40 per cent of the land area, as key drawcards.

Ms Wooldridge said the recognition reflected the significant investment and work that had gone into building community quality and pride at Ellendale.

“Our team is focused on creating attractive, leafy streetscapes that reflect our beautiful surroundings, and on encouraging our residents to plant native species to reinforce this,” she said.

“The design of Ellendale celebrates the undulating land, including split and sloping lots that capture spectacular views and breezes.

“We have covenants in place that ensure the premium nature of the community, protecting the investment of our predominately owner-occupier buyers over the long term.

“Our masterplan also features significant footpath networks and a central community parkland, establishing a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, where our residents can come together.”
