Cedar Woods WA Neighbourhood Grants Program recipients

Nine WA not-for-profit organisations have received a share in $30,000 funding, thanks to Cedar Woods’ Neighbourhood Grants Program in WA.

The grants will support a broad range of community ventures, from a local wildlife rehabilitation centre to volunteer firefighters, sporting groups, a chapter of the Country Women’s Association and a historical society.

The Midland and Districts Historical Society’s Chairperson Matthew Pavlinovich said the grant is a game-changer for the community-run organisation.

“We would like to thank Cedar Woods so much for providing our Society with a neighbourhood grant,” Mr Pavlinovich said.

“The grant will allow us to purchase a desktop computer for our members to conduct research and archive historical photographs and records. While our monthly presentations to our members and visitors on a variety of topics will be greatly improved with the addition of a new laptop and projector.”

Since the program’s inception in 2009, more than $1,000,000 has been donated nationally, aiding community groups and not-for-profits in funding programs and initiatives they would not have otherwise afforded.

Other groups to benefit include Express Wildlife Rescue and Rehab, Byford Community Garden, Mundijong Volunteer Bushfire Brigade, Court Grammar School, Medjugorje Centre, Baldivis Primary School, the Baldivis Belles Country Women’s Association and Baldivis Little Athletics.
