New State Manager Appointed
26 Aug 2009

Stuart Duplock has joined Cedar Woods as the company’s WA State Manager.

He brings with him almost 15 years in the property industry, including the previous nine years as General Manager – Development at Hawaiian where he was responsible for the acquisition, management and delivery of a portfolio of development and land projects.

His portfolio of projects included the 5 Star Green Star Bishops See office development, The Claremont Quarter retail and apartment project and many residential land subdivisions and apartment developments.

Cedar Woods’ Managing Director Paul Sadleir said Mr Duplock’s appointment was in line with the company’s strategic direction.

"Cedar Woods strategy going forward is to add value to our existing projects, acquire additional residential projects and expand into related areas of property such as retirement and commercial / retail.

"Stuart is an outstanding property professional who has had exposure across all the property sectors of interest to Cedar Woods, making him the ideal candidate for the State Manager position.

"Stuart has a strong track record in leading development teams to produce outstanding results, which is important as Cedar Woods seeks to deliver award winning projects," said Mr Sadleir.

Mr Duplock, a Chartered Accountant, is also a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australia and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.  His career in chartered accounting spanned 10 years, mainly in the area of corporate services, and included five years in London with international firms including Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers).  Prior to his work at Hawaiian he was involved in private property consulting and strata titled tourism and mixed use development with a private company.

Mr Duplock said Cedar Woods presented an appealing career move for a number of reasons.

“With a healthy balance sheet, excellent portfolio of projects and a very strong team, Cedar Woods is well positioned for solid growth.

“I’m looking forward to making a positive contribution to Cedar Woods as we embark on a new, exciting phase,” he said.

Mr Duplock will lead the WA team and play a strategic role in the acquisition and management of future developments.
